Updated September 26, 2026: This brief is out of date. The Trade Commissioner Service states that the CanExport SMEs application intake period ended at 12:00 p.m. (ET) on August 31, 2026, and that applications are not being accepted at this time, for U.S. or other markets. Information on future intake periods will be posted on the official program page when available. Do not start a new application; the original July 13, 2026 brief follows as a dated record. The Trade Commissioner Service says the $3.1 million available for CanExport SMEs projects targeting the United States has been fully allocated, so new U.S.-market applications are not being accepted. Applications submitted before June 30 will continue to be assessed. The program page states that applications for other eligible markets remain open, with a deadline extended to August 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. An open intake does not indicate that a business or project qualifies, will be selected, or will receive funding. Next action: for a non-U.S. market, review the current requirements and decide whether an application can be prepared before the stated deadline; for a U.S. project, monitor the official page rather than starting a new application.
